With the Super Bowl now in the rear view mirror, all the attention will turn to the NFL draft, and as a part of that, the NFL combine.

A couple weeks back, CBS released some of the early names that had received invites to this year's NFL combine.

On Tuesday, the NFL released the official list - which you can see here - of all the players that have been invited to be put under the heat lamp of the NFL executives and scouts for three days starting February 22nd.

The full list now includes the underclassmen that are leaving school early, along with a few other invites that were handed out to this year's seniors.

For the Big 12, Robert Griffin, Justin Blackmon, and Ronnell Lewis were the three underclassmen known to have come out (Bryce Brown at Kansas State, as well, who wasn't with the team for a good portion of the season).  They all have invites  (not including Brown), as expected, and the list now also includes, Oklahoma State safety Johnny Thomas who was ineligible this year and is now apparently part of the draft process. Thomas would have been a senior last fall, but still had a redshirt season available. For the purpose of the draft, the NFL has him marked as an underclassman.

A few other seniors were added to the initial list, as well.  Tight end Michael Egnew and wide receiver Jerrell Jackson - both from Missouri, Oklahoma State defensive end Jamie Blatnick, Kansas linebacker Steven Johnson, and Texas A&M kicker Randy Bullock were the others who received invites that weren't known originially.

January 18th - The NFL Draft is set to take place starting Thursday, April 26th and run for three days through Saturday, April 28th.  In between now and then, they'll be a whole lot of talk about who's going where and why player "X" is far better than player "Y".

One of the biggest pieces of that putting together the puzzle happens in Indianapolis starting with the NFL combine slated to begin on February 22nd.  There a slew of college prospects will get poked, prodded, and quizzed about how when a train traveling at a certain speed will reach its destination.  And yes, players actually want to get invited to this as its one of the few chances they'll have to showcase their abilities in addition to what they've already put on tape during the season.

While nothing is set in stone yet, names of players invited to the this year's combine have started to come out over the past several days.  For the Big 12, the list looks to include 24 players at the moment.  Keep in mind, this list only includes seniors.  When the final list is published here, it will also include the players invited that are leaving school early, so yes, RGIII and Justin Blackmon will also be there should they choose to workout.

Two players on this initial list, Ryan Broyles and Fozzy Whittaker, won't likely be able to work out when the combine finally rolls around.  Both suffered ACL injuries during the season and barring a medical miracle, wouldn't be ready to go through the drills in Indy this quickly.
