Saturday wasn't a good day for the Marshall football team who got drilled by West Virginia, 69-34.
It was an even worse day for Marshall linebacker, Cortez Carter, who was on the receiving end of two vicious blocks during Saturday's game.
The first comes at the :14 mark of the below video.
Then Andrew Buie does the damage on a Geno Smith scramble which you can see at the :16 mark.
Mountaineer head coach Dana Holgorsen made note of blocks during his press conference on Tuesday.
"K.J. Dillon's happened right in front of me and I got really, really excited when I saw that -- even showed emotion," Holgorsen said. "It was awesome, but looking back on it, Buie's was better. But the ironic thing was that it was the same defender. That sucks, man. Poor kid. Geez."
Reading his quote is good, but hearing it is even better.
And yes, that does suck, in a big way.
There wasn't any report of a Cortez injury so here's to hoping he's fully recovered.. The sophomore finished the game with one tackle and I'm guessing a giant headache.
