With the season just over a week away, the Big 12 has finally gotten around to announcing the TV lineup for the opening three weeks of the season, along with some kick-off times that had not been previously announced.
Looking at the first weekend of action, West Virginia's game with Marshall will get a national broadcast on FX and be the first and only Big 12 team to play in the early time slot.
Tulsa at Iowa State will be next up with a 2:30 kickoff on Fox Sports Net. Those are the only two afternoon games among the nine games for the Big 12 with the other seven games slated for an evening kickoff.
A couple of noteworthy items regarding the first three weeks of the season.
*Texas' first two games of the season will appear on the Longhorn Network. Both games against Wyoming and New Mexico are set for a 7PM (CDT) kick.
*Kansas State's opening game versus Missouri State will be broadcast online via K-StateHD.TV with the Big 12's TV contract allowing schools to retain the rights to one football game per season, unless you're Texas which for the second straight season will show two games on the Longhorn Network.
*Kansas' opener with South Dakota State will be broadcast locally in Kansas on the Jaywhawk Network.
*The Big 12 will have just one Saturday game over the first three weeks televised on ABC/ESPN, that being Texas' trip to Ole Miss. UL-Monroe-Baylor will have a Friday night kick-off and will aslo be broadcast on ESPN or ESPN2.
*The conference will have three national broadcasts on FX: Marshall @ West Virginia, Miami @ Kansas State, and TCU's first ever Big 12 game which will against Kansas.
